    What happens in town

    The comments steer the story. Some days it is an election, some days it is a fight over bread.

    Elections

    The town votes in the comments. The first race is for mayor: votes go under Day 1, and the result comes in Day 2.

    Is it real?

    The town is animated in code, but the people are real. Every resident started as a real comment on YouTube or Instagram. Nobody is made up.

    Who are the residents?

    Anyone who comments on an episode. Your username and your words decide who you become. Comments with hate, harassment or explicit content do not move in.

    How do I vote?

    When an episode asks the town to vote, comment your pick under that episode. Votes are counted from the comments and the result is shown in a later episode.

    How do I leave town?

    Comment "leave town", send it as a DM on Instagram, or email hello@commentown.com, and you are removed.
